Room Addition

Project Location: German Village

The room addition on this home consisted of adding a master suite above an existing space as well as an elevator with a first-floor expansion.  The homeowners wanted to stay true to the home’s historic values while keeping ‘aging in place’ at top of mind.

BEFORE

These clients loved their 1867 German Village home but steep stairs were becoming more of a challenge to access their second-floor master bedroom & bath.

Plans & renderings

The second-floor room addition was built over the existing family room while a first-floor expansion was added to provide elevator access to the master suite.  The elevator was added to alleviate the use of stairs and was the best solution for efficient use of space both interior and exterior on the German Village property.
