Kitchen, Sitting Room and Mudroom Addition
An avid cook, and parent to two, our Westerville client needed a space that allowed them to prepare meals and spend time with their kids simultaneously.

BEFORE
Before we began this project, our client was suffering through working in a true retro kitchen. Not only were there very few cabinets to start with, many of the doors and drawers were falling off. There were several storage issues in this home. The door from the garage was their main entrance into the house, which previously delivered them directly into the kitchen – with no convenient place to put coats, shoes, or backpacks. The garage itself held overflow items from the kitchen due to the lack of space.
PLANS & RENDERINGS
We knew going into this project that in order to deliver everything our client wanted, an addition was going to be required. However, we wanted to be as efficient as possible to make every square foot matter. In the end, we added less than 200 square feet to the back of this split-level home – but the impact it made is almost immeasurable. We Reconfigured the shape of the kitchen, added a small sitting room, and space off the garage for a true entry and drop zone.
