We had our work cut out for us with this historic 1800s home. This home is listed on the National Historic Registry, and it was important to these clients that we pay homage to the historical roots of the home, while utilizing modern amenities. The aesthetic direction of the kitchen was driven by the homeowners’ selected appliances from Florence, Italy. The dramatic, vintage matte black and brass finish lent itself perfectly to the antique feel of the home.
Project Completed: 2021
The main part of the house was built in 1861 and had two separate additions added in the early 1900s. These clients knew they didn’t need any more space, but the way the house was arranged made little sense. Keeping the original windows was high on the priority list. The design aesthetic for the upstairs bathroom was high glamour. Mirrored vanities with a mix of polished brass and crystal drawer pulls, marble countertops and tile as well as gold leaf mirrors helped to convey the level of luxury these clients were looking for.
