Reimagining how the available space could be used was essential to delivering a design that checked all the boxes for these clients. Their goal was to create a space with true division while not feeling too closed off to their bedroom space.
Project Completed: 2025
Some couples share everything, but these clients were sick of sharing everything. They didn’t want their new bathroom to feel closed off, but the original floor plan provided zero privacy: the vanity and jacuzzi tub were open to the bedroom, and the toilet and shower were located together in the same space. To add to this lack of division, none of the walls went all the way up the vaulted ceiling, so sound carried throughout the entire area.
The first priority in the new design was to provide privacy for these homeowners by building a wall between the bedroom and bathroom. To avoid sacrificing any square footage in either the bedroom or bath to accommodate a door swing, a pocket door was built into the framing of the new wall to ensure optimal functionality. Eliminating the tub created the space needed to shift the vanity area, allowing for the expanded walk-in shower.
