110 Year Old Home Remodel
This Clintonville home had been through a lot. Including, but not limited to, some very bad DIY projects completed by the previous homeowners, in an attempt to adapt the house to more modern living.

BEFORE
The powder room was the most glaring example of some of the poorly planned and executed DIY projects in the home. The toilet was located in front of the doorway, with the tank hung high on the wall. The layout of this home just didn’t make sense. The narrow hallway between the kitchen and dining room was just off the back door, which served as the main entrance for these clients. The unnecessary angles and soffits in the kitchen made the space feel cramped.
Plans & renderings
The key to this design was finding a balance between timeless and trendy. These clients had a personal aesthetic, but they didn’t want their preference for bold colors and patterns to overwhelm the space. In the powder room we let their eclectic style take centerstage. In the kitchen, layered neutrals with classic finishes make this space feel almost original to the home. The primary bath also showed a bit more of that eclectic style with the tile in the shower. These reimagined spaces now provide both the functionality they needed and the aesthetic they had longed for.
