Schluter Systems manufactures products in the tile industry, water proofing and flooring that Dave Fox Design Build Remodelers utilizes on remodeling projects. Schluter, is named after the founder from Germany and was introduced in North America over 30 years ago. Schluter-DITRA are specifically designed for ceramic and stone installations. They provide uncoupling to prevent cracked tile and grout and can extend the life of a remodel. DITRA also serves as a waterproofing layer that protects moisture-sensitive substrates such as plywood.
Remodeling has a lot of moving parts and the home is affected over time that involves the movement of products. Tile being placed and adhered to a wall or floor doesn’t have a lot of movement. The uncoupling relieves that stress underneath and allows the tile to move freely, preventing possible damage. Schluter installation techniques are also monitored closely. Being a remodeler, each job is custom for Dave Fox. Being that a project is custom, requires a system for each unique scenario. The Dave Fox Design Build team is trained by Schluter Systems for product knowledge and installation.
